Marking and scoring of homework, tests, diagnostic tests, exams and assignments can be done in different ways.

In Dugga you will find question types that can be scored manually or automatically. The automatic question types
are scored automatically by the system and the students' answers are compared to the answers that the
teacher has provided as the "right answer". The manual question types are scored manually by the teacher.

For manual question types such as "essay questions" you can mark segments directly in the students answers,
highlight the marked text segments with different colors such as green, yellow or red and give comments
that the students will see when they hover with their mouse over the marked text segment.

You can also give feedback for the entire answer to an individual student in a text editor at the end of the
question or give feedback to all students at the same time by clicking on the tab "feedback to all participants".

When you are done you give the students "points" in relation to what you think is appropriate. If you have
chosen rubrics for the test then you give them the "grades" or "score" that you find appropriate.

When you are done with the marking and have saved everything then all the questions and handins should be
marked with a green "check" symbol on the left hand side.

In the video clip below you can see how to mark and score tests in Dugga.

Grading and scoring of exams. homework, tests, diagnostic tests, with points are done in the following way.

The manually corrected question types; Essay, Mathematics, Geogebra is corrected by clicking on “Show tools" and fill in the score that the student should get for the answer.

Then click on "Save".

  1. Add points

The automatic graded question types; Multiple choice, Correct answer, Glossary, Match, Click text, Right place, Order, Mark, Fill Gap, Gap menu, True/False is corrected automatically.
The students' answers are compared with the answers that the teacher has given as the "correct answer" to the question.

If, on the other hand, you want to change the score for the answer to an automatically corrected question, ypu do it in the same way as for a manually corrected question.
For the automatically graded question types where the student must enter an answer (Correct answer, Glossary and Fill Gap), you can accept an answer afterwards that the student has entered. This answer is then added to the list of correct answers and the student gets points for it. If there are other students who entered the same answer as the accepted answer, they will also receive points.
When you use the same exam again, in a new exam event, the added answers will be included in the list of correct answers.

Comments and markings in a text

For manual graded question types such as "Essay questions", you can comment on words/sentences/paragraphs by marking words/sentences/paragraphs directly in the students' answers and give the marking different colors such as green, yellow or red. When the exam is then published to the student, the student will see comments with the color (s) chosen.
